NYFW FALL '14 PICKS

I have to admit that it hasn't been easy to pick my favourite outfits from Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York as it has really amazed me this time. Sally Lapointe has been with no doubt one of my favourites. I think she presented a very powerful  and elegant collection defined by the monochromatic trend and that plays with different textures, specially leather and fur. Michael Kors really impresed me too, he presented an amazing fall collection, very feminine and with a beautiful bohemian touch. Hope you you enjoy this little recap that it has already inspired me to choose my outfit for this week! Stay tuned as there will be a new outfit post tomorrow!

Tengo que reconocer que no ha sido fácil hacer una recopilación de mis conjuntos favoritos en esta recién terminada Mercedes Benz Fashion Week en Nueva York ya que en general me ha dejado impresionada. Sally Lapointe ha sido una de mis favoritos en esta ocasión, creo que es una colección con mucha fuerza y elegncia definida por la tendencia monocromática en la que ha jugado con distintas texturas, sobre todo piel. Michael Kors también presentó una colección increíble, muy femenina y con cierto toque bohemio que me impresionó. Espero que os guste este pequeño resumen de mis favoritos, a mi  por lo menos ya me está dando ideas para vestir en lo que queda de invierno! Mañana nuevo outfit, estad atentos! x

BLUE BLAZER x NEW YORK

I couldn't find the perfect moment to post this outfit from my amazing trip to New York, but I think it's great to finish this year with a look that definitely brings great memories and has been one of the highlights of the year for me. The snapshoots were taken in September, a month that seems to be a transition from extreme summer temperatures to autumn and that's why I was wearing different layers including this fab blue blazer that you've already seen before.

Hope you guys are having an amazing festive season with your loved ones; I have spent a few days at home but I'm going back to Dublin tomorrow morning.

No había encontrado el momento adecuado para publicar este look de nuestro increíble viaje a Nueva York, pero creo que la manera perfecta de terminar el año es recordando los mejores momentos del 2013 y para mi el viaje a NY fue uno de ellos. Como las fotos se tomaron en septiembre, me que parece ser la transición entre el verano más extremo y los primeros síntomas del otoño, llevaba varias capas incluyendo esta blazer azul que he llevado en más de una ocasión en los últimos meses.

Espero que estéis pasando unas navidades increíbles en familia; yo ya vuelvo a Dublín mañana y poco a poco volver a la realidad.

WHITE & GREY BASICS

This is one of those comfy looks perfect to take a stroll around a new city, in this case, in New York again (we took so many pictures!). We spent the day in Harlem and had an awesome brunch in a fab restaurant called Rooster, the food was yummy and the place was really cool and classy.

As you can see, the outfit is made of super comfortable garments including my white pants from Forever 21 that I love; I see so many looks with this piece, from a casual look like this one, to a more elegant, formal or romantic look. I actually wear them to work sometimes, as you can see in this post.

The pictures were taken at the famous basketball pitch, Rucker Park, and I think that the background looks amazing.

Este es uno de esos looks cómodos que no pueden faltar en la maleta para descubrir una nueva ciudad.  Como os podéis imaginar, este es otro de los looks que llevé en Nueva York, en concreto, para pasar el día en Harlem y hacer una parada para tomar un delicioso brunch en Rooster; el restaurante es de lo más cool y estiloso, con música en directo y un menú increíble.

Volviendo al look, ya veis que todas las prendas que lo componen son súper cómodas y básicas, no por ello menos versátiles ya que pueden adaptarse a muchas temporadas. Los pantalones blancos me parecen una prenda imprescindible, que pensaba que solo me pondría en verano pero les veo muchas posibilidades en invierno también. podéis ver otro look con la misma prenda aquí.

Las fotos fueron tomadas en Rucker Park, una de las pistas de baloncesto más populares de Nueva York, y creo que el fondo quedó genial.

THE FORMULA

The Formula, that's how call this type of look, the one that really works for me and probably for most of us = Jeans + Blazer + Heels + Statement handbag.

Even though it's a really simple outfit to put together, it is really flattering and chic. The outfit is made of pieces I bought in New York (pictures were taken there as well), and I have to say I am very happy with all of my purchases there, but specially the fabulous Steve Madden shoes and this white blazer that it's for me, the perfect one.

La fórmula, así es como llamo yo a este tipo de looks que me funciona perfectamente en cualquier ocación, y seguro que a muchas de vosotras también = Jeans + Blazer + Tacón + Bolso.

Aunque sea un look bastante fácil de conjuntar, siempre funciona por ser favorecedor y con un toque chic. Como no, el outfit se compone de prendas que compré en Nueva York (las fotos también son en NYC), pero sin duda el blazer blanco y las sandalias Steve Madden son, para mi, las prendas estrella del viaje.

SOHO LOVE

Another look from New York guys! This is what I wore for our second day in the city, perfect to walk around the city and taking street style pictures at NYFW :) As you can see, the look it's made of basic and comfortable pieces that probably all of us have in our wardrobe, specially a white shirt, a must-have any season!

Otro look de Nueva York! En este caso, uno que llevé para nuestro segundo día en la ciudad, perfecto para largas caminatas y para capturar el mejor street style en la NYFW :) Como podéis ver, el look se compone de piezas básicas que probablemente todas tenemos en nuestro armario, pero es una combinación que nunca falla. Sin duda, la camisa blanca es un must cualquier temporada!

WEST VILLAGE LIFE

I still have loads of pictures to show you from New York, specially outfit snaps! These ones were taken in one of my favourite parts of Manhattan, West Village, very close to Carrie Broadshaw's apartment! So as you can imagine, a very cool residential spot not far from Friends' house either. I really liked the result of wearing diffrent layers by combining a black leather mini skirt that I DIYed (as it had a flounce), grey t-shirt and white and blue stripped shirt, all from past seasons, except for the sneakers. The denim bag was a free gift from NY Fashion Week, a really comfy handbag when visiting a new city.

Todavía me quedan bastantes fotos que enseñaros de Nueva York, especialmente looks! Este en concreto es de de nuestro cuarto día en la Gran Manzana; las fotos las echamos en una zona que me encanta de Nueva York, el West Village, en concreto a pocos metros del apartamento de Carrie Broadshaw. Como ya véis una zona residencial bastante bonita y a pocos pasos de la famosa casa de Friends! Para look elegí llevara distintas capas y largos con la mini efecto piel negra (a la que le quité un volante que llevaba, viva el DIY), camiseta gris y camisa a rayas azules y blancas. Todo es de temporadas pasadas, excepto las zapatillas. El bolso vaquero fue uno de esos regalitos que te dan a las puertas de los shows de la NY Fashion Week, perfecto para visitar la ciudad.

BROADWAY GIRL

And here you are the first round of outfit pictures from New York! I really wanted to show you this look with my new Steve Madden heels that I got at Meatpacking District, I think they are the coolest pair I have, definitely, not the last pair of Madden's that I buy. Actually, all the garments that I am wearing in this outfit are new and from New York; the leather and skater skirt was a piece that wardrobe needed, I think is super flattering and it looks great both with more summery outfit or fall ones. I get the feeling that this jumper from H&M is going to be a success this season, it's just perfect and its price as well.

These pictures were taken in Broadway, before starting our evening journey at Top of the Rock (just wow) with awesome drinks and food at 230 5th Avenue, the views are just amazing from this roof-top bar, highly recommended.

Por fin os enseño uno de looks que llevé en Nueva York! Tenía muchas ganas de subir laa fotos de este look con mis nuevos zapatos de Steve Madden que compré en Meatpacking District. Creo que son el par de zapatos más "cool" que tengo, pero estoy segura de que no serán los últimos Steve Madden que entren en mi aramario. En realidad, todas las prendas que llevo en este look son nuevas y compradas en Nueva York, nice. La falda tipo skater en polipiel era una pieza "must-have" que mi armario necesitaba, creo que es muy ponible tanto en looks más veraniegos o para este otoño. Creo que el jersey en color crema de H&M va a ser un hit de la temporada, es perfecto y su precio también.

Las fotos las tomamos en Broadway, que es enorme, antes de empezar nuestra aventura nocturna subiendo al Top of the Rock (simplemente, Wow), para después tomar unos cócteles y algo de picoteo en la terraza del 230 en la Quinta Avenida, muy recomendable ya que las vistas al Empire State Building son impresionantes.
